Paper Lanterns Sew Along Week Seven

The lesson I learn this week is never trust the cute face of a 6 month old golden retriever named Billy. I left my work on the coffee table and came back to a bit of a mess. Billy decided that he’d help me remove the papers, nothing I couldn’t fix but for anyone that has tried to re-glue shapes that have been chewed by a dog would understand lol

Your quilt centre should now be starting to take shape, with only 2 pie blocks left it is really coming together. Some of you have moved ahead and finished all 6 pie blocks which look fantastic.

Requirements

23 – Floral Lantern Jewels

12 – 2” Half Hexagons

Follow the EPP instructions and diagrams to make the following.

Week-3-Diagrams_Artboard-1

Spot Half Hexagons

Cut 12 half hexagons on the same pattern repeat.

Hint: Sticky dots are useful for this as it keeps the original piece stuck to the template so you can line up the next piece to cut.

Once you have pieced the half hexagons together you should have six fussy-cut hexagons.

Week-7-Diagrams_Artboard-1

Sew all of the pieces together as shown in the diagram.

Week-7-Diagrams_Artboard-2

And that’s all for week seven of the paper lanterns sew-along.

I’m going to start joining my blocks later this week, I hope to have some photos to share with you next week.
